Complete combustion is governed by the classic Three T's of Combustion: Temperature ($750 - 1100^\circ\text{C}$), Time (residence time $\tau \ge 0.75 - 2.0\text{ s}$), and Turbulence (reynolds mixing).

Regenerative vs Recuperative Thermal Oxidizers

In Direct-Fired oxidizers, huge quantities of natural gas are consumed heating ambient waste air to $850^\circ\text{C}$. Regenerative Thermal Oxidizers (RTOs) utilize multi-bed ceramic structured packing to achieve $95\%$ thermal energy recovery.
